In fact, West Bengal's rapid growth, reach the GDP of 7%, above the average of India (4.3%, with constant price 2002-2003). Consumption in this state also followed with the growth rate as much as 10% annually.

Ciputra Group and Salim Group, the promoters of joint-venture company, Beyond Limit International Limited (BLIL), is preparing to develop the 400 ha West Howrah township which valued approximately USD 330 million. Agreement has already been signed on the 7th of July 2004, between the Government of West Bengal and the Kolkata Municipal Development Authority with Beyond Limit International Limited. Afterward, the company set up a local Indian company, Kolkata West International City Pvt Ltd, to carry out the day to day operational and developments.

The project is located on a strategic location, easily accessed from National Highway No. 6, Howrah Amta street and Benares street. It will only take 15 minutes from the Kolkata city and 20 minutes from Netaji Subhas International Airport.

This project will become the first foreign investor in development of an integrated township in West Bengal.
